Sol-Ark 12K is a combined output (split between DC Battery and AC Loads/Grid). The max power to the grid or AC loads is 9kW, in conjunction with simultaneously charging the batteries.

So for example. if 9kW is going to the grid, an additional 3kW of power can be used to charge the batteries. Unlike most other inverters, the flexible Sol-Ark is not limited to a single type of battery (aka “battery agnostic”). The Sol-Ark 12k inverter works with the widest variety of 48V battery chemistries, from lead to lithium ion.

And as mentioned before, the Sol-Ark 12k is expandable up to 6 units.

Sol-Ark Applications:

Grid-Tied Mode – Sell power back to the Utility to reduce your electric bill

Meter Zero Mode – Zero your electric bill without adding an additional smart meter (*unless otherwise required by your local utility)

Time-Of-Use Mode – Use solar and batteries to minimize grid power usage when it’s most expensive

Smart Load Mode – Use a programmable output for high-power off grid loads or grid Time-of-use loads – to run only when there is optimum solar – use excess PV power when batteries are full

Off-Grid Applications – compatible with any battery you desire

AC Coupling – can be retrofitted to existing grid-tied solar power systems

Battery Backup Applications

EMP Applications – includes EMP suppressors for appliances and solar panels. Not available on the 5K.) The electronics in the lithium BMS cannot be guaranteed to survive EMP, whereas lead-acid is chemical, thus will survive.

Intelligent Off-Grid Features

Incorporated programmable smart loads for running A/C and hot water on solar power instead of batteries (adding years to their lifespan and reducing size).

One of the single biggest problems with Off-Grid is knowing how much battery capacity you have left. Will you have enough power if it rains tomorrow? Not to worry. The Sol-Ark team incorporated a proprietary battery learning algorithm that even accounts for aging batteries.

EMP Protection

Over 8 months of testing was needed to test the Solar Flare / EMP Hardening design to assure it would hold up when needed. The EMP Hardening is modeled after military designs that protect the system, solar panels, and your appliances while in use. One of our engineers tested solar systems and panels at White Sands N.M.
